ITAK

The Regional Dance Center of Eastern Finland (ITAK) is an organisation whose mission is to support, both socially and financially, the visibility and development of dance as an art in Eastern Finland and to promote its availability and accessibility in the region, in order to enhance employment conditions for professional dancer artists and to encourage networking between dancers and other parties.

The Regional Dance Center of Eastern Finland operates in Northern Savo, Southern Savo and North Karelia. Its objective is to strengthen the diversity of cultural services in the area as well as the role and accessibility of professional art as part of local culture.

To achieve these objectives, ITAK provides information about dance to the public and other target groups, grants partial production support, organises visiting performances and events and promotes the networking between dance artists and other parties in the region, as ITAK mainly acts as an agent between various parties.
