Yksin Sateessa – Joensuun nykytanssifestivaali palaa tänä vuonna juurilleen sooloja esittäväksi festivaaliksi ja tuo marraskuussa Joensuuhun monipuolisen kattauksen nykytanssisooloja. Etsimme nyt avoimella haulla kaiken pituisia sooloesityksiä.
Tällä avoimella haulla etsimme erityisesti teoksia ITAK:n alueelta. Yhtenä valintakriteerinä on taiteilijan vahva suhde ITAK:n alueeseen (Etelä-Savo, Pohjois-Savo ja Pohjois-Karjala). Esityskorvaus festivaalivierailusta maksetaan enimmillään kahdelle henkilölle per valittava esitys (esim. esiintyjä ja valosuunnittelija). Soolot voidaan esittää myös muualla kuin perinteisessä esitystilassa. Sooloesityksen tulee olla kantaesitetty ennen Yksin Sateessa -festivaalia, joka järjestetään 27.–29.11.2025.

In English
This year, the Lonely in the Rain festival is returning to its origins as a solo dance festival, bringing a diverse selection of contemporary dance solos to Joensuu in November 2025. We are now launching an open call for solo performances of any length to present at the festival.
Through this open call, we are particularly looking for works from the ITAK region. One of the selection criteria is the artist’s strong connection to the ITAK region (South Savo, North Savo, and North Karelia). A performance fee will be paid for up to two people per selected performance (e.g., performer and lighting designer). Solos can also be performed outside of traditional performance spaces. The solo performance must have premiered before the Lonely in the Rain Festival, which will take place from November 27–29, 2025.
How to Apply
Send your application to ITAK’s Artistic Director, Veera Lamberg, at veera.lamberg@itak.fi by February 28, 2025. Use the subject line: Open Call YS 2025 / Name of the Solo.
Include the following in your application:
-A performance recording as a link or a detailed description of the performance structure
-The performance’s technical rider as a PDF attachment
-The artist’s CV and a description of their connection to the ITAK region
-Information on whether the performance is available on any festival day between November 27–29, 2025
All applicants will be informed of the selection results by the end of March.
